My Role

This was a school project where we had to design a fashion collection based on groups and subcultures. I had chosen to take inspiration from bohemian, middle eastern and BDSM fashion. I wanted to create a Spring collection for men that was luxurious and juxtaposed female and masculine connotations. To show femininity, I chose sheer and lustrous fabrics such as silk organza. I had chose brocade fabrics to show the opulence. For a touch of edge and masculinity, I had gold spikes embellished throughout the collection - especially on the crotch of some the looks. The cuts of the clothing and styling have a sense of rhythm and delicacy, such as the ruffles on the pink trousers, the exposed décolleté and the use of ribbon as accessories to show gentleness, feminine whimsy and sensuality.
