ARITZIA: Babaton S/S 2022 Fashion Designs

A fashion design project for Aritzia, where we had to choose one of their in-house brands and design a Spring/ Summer 2022 collection for it. I had chose their office-chic brand Babaton.

For this school project, we were tasked with designing a collection for one of the in-house labels of the fashion brand Aritzia. Founded in 1984, Aritzia has roots in the West Coast and Pacific Northwest, eventually branching out to be a global brand. Their target market is women aged 14 - 30. They are a vertical brand that designs in Vancouver. They have 96 stores across North America, 67 in Canada and 29 in the United States. Their stores sell clothing mainly from their in-house brands such as WILFRED STUDIO: Wilfred, Wilfred Free; BABATON ATELIER: Babaton, The Group by Babaton; TNA: Tna, Tna Sweatfleece, The Super Puff™; Sunday Best, Denim Forum, Auxiliary, Main Character, and Talula. They also carry brands such as Levi’s® Premium, AGOLDE, Citizens of Humanity, Suicoke, TKEES, Wildflower.


The in-house label that I chose to design for was Babaton. The Babaton brand uses clean, architectural, and modern silhouettes. The pieces are considered uncomplicated and ideal for work. It is all about minimalism and relaxed tailoring – workwear ideal for the new office. Babaton is one of the higher-end brands that belong to Aritzia, a Canadian fashion retailer known for its in-house brands that create an eclectic assortment of clothing for the off-duty model look.
