ARCENXIEL: F/W 2022 Air Heads + Meat Heads

For this project, we were tasked with designing our next season collection for our own fashion brand. We had to analyze our last season and use it as inspiration.

For this project, we were tasked with designing our next season collection for our own fashion brand. We had to analyze our last season and use it as inspiration - a continuation. However, my last collection was very concept driven which did not make sense to me to continue exploring it. Thus, I chose two looks that had similarities that I thought I could reiterate for Fall/ Winter. I was also inspired by another fashion designer named Freja Wesik who created a collection of quilted corsets and outfits that were done to resemble muscles. For materials, last season I considered using latex. However, I had not explored it further because latex requires different techniques than sewing to attach pieces together. So, I revisited the idea of latex in this collection. All together, I wanted to explore the kitschy idea of air heads and muscle heads, making fashion that overtly show off the male figure and augment them to hilarious proportions.
